Recently, we all heard Republican Presidential contender Mitt Romney say in a moment of candor that he didn't care about the poor. As shocking as that statement was, I must agree in the context of what he said it isn't quite as polarizing. None the less, what we see from politicians is an attitude of not being cognizant of what is going on around them.

It's time for a fixed-route bus system in Licking County.
Many people in our community do not have the resources they need to afford housing, health care, education, transportation and other basic needs, or what so many of us take for granted. Basic human rights such as these need to be addressed in our community, beyond the charity model of giving what we can to those in need, but never really addressing the structural changes that need to take place.
